Neil Stanley, CEO & Founder

In 2009, Neil founded Bank Performance Strategies. His company helps client banks attract properly-priced, longer-term core retail deposits.   Bank Performance Strategies supports clients across the country with sales performance analytics, sales training, and a web-based pricing and sales platform.

Neil has been a banker for over 25 years. Neil was the CEO of $750 million Northwest Bank in Spencer, Iowa which operates in Omaha, Nebraska, Des Moines, and the Northwest Iowa regions. Prior to Northwest Bank, Neil was an executive for over 22 years with what became the largest privately held banking organization in the country – First National of Nebraska / Lauritzen Corporation. He served First National as Chief Investment and Liquidity Officer and Lauritzen Corporation as Vice President in general administration and supervision of community banks.

Neil obtained his Masters Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, taught in the Economics department at Iowa State University and has taught classes at Graduate School of Banking in Colorado and Southwest Graduate School of Banking; Asset Liability Management and Investments for the Schools of Banking at Kansas/Nebraska and Iowa; and several online seminars for the Graduate School of Banking - Madison.  Neil’s articles and white papers have been published by BAI Banking Strategies and Financial Managers Society.  Neil also serves WebEquity Solutions as Retained Counsel for Banking Strategies where he created the initial design for WebEquity ALLL.  His webinar and speaking engagements range from Preparing for More Rigorous Examinations to Surviving and Thriving in the “New Normal” of Banking.  Neil has also served as a director for several banking and financial organizations and is currently a director at Treynor State Bank, Treynor, Iowa.

Julia Hernandez, Chief Operating Officer

Julia began her career at First National Bank of Omaha where she led teams in both sales and operations.  While there she gained extensive experience in dispute processing, product value analysis, strategy development, consultative customer diagnostics, and market penetration.  She was afforded the opportunity to work cross functionally and gain expertise in merchant processing, human resources, credit card issuance and treasury services. She was invited into the bank’s prestigious management development program and she rose quickly to the vice president ranks to lead a national sales team working with Fortune 500 clients.  She was a member of the distinguished Top Gun Sales team for the top 25 sales people across the entire organization. She was selected as First National Brand Ambassador and received The Presidents Recognition award for outstanding performance.

Following that she worked at Northwest Financial Corporation for 6 years where she was a member of their executive team and led numerous initiatives across their multi-charter holding company.  While at Northwest she developed her diagnostics and strategy development tools in the areas of human resources, retail pricing, treasury services, and wealth management.  She coordinated communications and execution the areas of project management and all new product development and installation for their information technology division.

She has served as an instructor at the University of Nebraska- Omaha and has worked with students at numerous universities in the Midwest on developing their career management and development strategy skills. She has frequently spoken at conferences and seminars and has been an instructor for the American Bankers Association.  She has earned the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation from the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP) and has a certification in Lean/Six Sigma from Villanova University. 

Julia is also certified in a number of HR related assessment inventories and has been active as a Board member for young professional organizations as well as a member of the Completely KIDS guild board.

Julia grew up working in a family owned business, which has been going strong for nearly 100 years.  Learning business from the ground up provided Julia with sense of the scope of projects and prioritization required to successfully keep a business profitable and current. 

She received her BA from University of Nebraska - Lincoln and MA from University of Nebraska - Lincoln in Human Resource Development with an emphasis in Organizational Design.

 

Laura Stanley, Senior Vice President

Laura joins The CorePoint from Deloitte & Touche, LLP where she launched her career as an intern in 2011. Laura graduated from Biola University located in Southern California with a degree in Accounting. Her time with Deloitte was spent traveling to her clients nationwide. Laura served such organizations as Berkshire Hathaway, Nebraska Medicine, Union Pacific, Mutual of Omaha, and J.P. Morgan Chase. Her consulting experience makes Laura a great addition to The CorePoint team. Laura's portfolio working with large complex organizations gives her knowledge and experience on effective business processes gathered across a wide spectrum of industries and markets. At Deloitte, Laura served as the senior consultant on projects such as strategic risk assessments, third party management engagements, human capital research projects, and process reviews.

Laura enjoys facilitating trainings and teaching others how to improve their businesses. She is an effective communicator and understands the importance of continued process improvements and ongoing education in order to align organizations, remain competitive, and sustain success.
